Monthly Update - April 2023

Whether you were observing Easter, celebrating Eid, marking another tradition or simply enjoying little break, hopefully you were able to make the most of a few days holiday in April. Busy as always, here’s what we’ve been up to this month.

Venly continues to remain ahead of the curve on the technological front, announcing support for the WalletConnect V2 on April 18. This latest update unlocks broad compatibility between our wallet widget and a whole universe of dApps, and adds new wallet functionality including push notifications, instant messaging and more.

We were honored to be named as finalists in the Pocket Gamer Mobile Game Awards category ‘Most Impactful Web3 Company.’ It was fantastic to attend the awards night alongside so many strong players in the industry. And though we didn’t end up with the grand prize, we’ve got our sights set on the next competition - the Global Business Tech Awards prize for SAAS Company of the Year - where we’ve also been nominated!

Some amazing new web3 endeavors have been making themselves known in April. TokenTraxx’s Venly-powered Music-NFT marketplace platform is looking to fundamentally reshape the music industry as we know it. Meanwhile, international TV giant Studio100 is using Venly’s wallet solution to power its next-generation fan engagement campaign.

From music, to TV, and even to fashion, blockchain technology continues to make waves. For this year’s Metaverse Fashion Week, Venly teamed up with digital fashion label Mutani to launch an exclusive phygital collection, featuring NFTs sold on Shopify for fiat using the Venly Shopify Plugin.

The big event for April was NFT NYC. With over 100 partners, 500 brands, 1500 speakers, 2000 artists and more than 6000 attendees, the event proved once again to be a crucial hub of web3.

Venly hosted a booth over the 3 days and met with hundreds of interested representatives from a range of industries. Next up? Avalanche Summit from May 3-5 in Barcelona,where our Head of Marketing Stefan Colins, will be featured on stage.

Besides all of the great content regularly coming out on our blog, our CEO Tim Dierckxsens recently wrote an article for BeInCrypto.com called ‘Blockchain Gaming: The Keys to the Metaverse Castle.’ In it, he argues that high-quality web3 games will be what unlocks the metaverse’s potential.

We’re also restarting our YouTube channel, so make sure to subscribe to be notified when we post product updates, tutorials, interviews, and other media.

The Venly community calendar was absolutely overflowing with events in April. We hosted three more editions of our Game Sessions, where participants competed in The Sandbox, Smash Karts, and Big Time, for NFT and token prizes. We also held an Easter AI Art Contest and Twitter Spaces for web3 game Kitty Kart and an interview with game designer Big Time.
