Monthly Update - August 2023

August saw Venly participate in some major events and partnerships across multiple industries. Most notably, we’re proud to have partnered with the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 to launch the international competition’s first ever digital collectible campaign.

Launched to coincide with the start of the tournament, the ‘Mementos’ collection comprises of three tiers of digital collectible (plus one bonus) that fans can purchase from the Venly-powered online store. Each tier comes with its own set of perks and bonus, rewarding fans for their dedication to the sport. The ‘Mementos’ campaign is just the latest move in professional sport’s adoption of NFT technology to engage fans.

The gaming industry also saw one of it’s major events in August. Gamescom 2023 took place in Cologne, Germany, from the 23rd to the 27th. Venly CEO Tim Dierckxsens was invited to speak at the Multiverse Summit, a Gamescom event focussing on Web3 and the Metaverse, on how blockchain-based metaverse experiences are continuing to evolve in games. 

Gaming is not the only industry to benefit from Venly’s tech. Independent band ‘Here at Last’ hit number 2 on the Official Independet Album Charts. The band used Venly’s wallet to distribute their promotional digital collectible albums.

Meanwhile, over on the Venly Market, another major NFT collection just dropped. CyberSyndicate is a GameFi & Media project leveraging The Sandbox’s land & game mechanics.
