Monthly Update - February 2023
Greetings Venlyans! We hope you had a good start to the year and are powering ahead with your plans and resolutions. Here’s what we got up to in February.
Announcements
We kicked off the month with the announcement of a new partnership with Dotted, who are using Venly APIs to power their mobile-first social wallet. Dotted’s mission to reimagine the Web3 social experience and enable access for all is in perfect alignment with Venly’s vision to onboard the next billion users onto Web3. Meanwhile, according to Christopher Cheung, Co-Founder and CTO of Dotted, “Venly’s simple integration and robust tools allow us to focus on what we do best, providing a superior customer experience.”
Later in the month, our efforts were recognized by technology website Tech Funding News, which called Venly one of the top 10 European Web3 startups to watch in 2023.
Events
Part of the Venly team during NFT Paris, 2023.
After a whirlwind January, we were glad to settle down a little into a more working routine. Still, we did manage to get out to NFT Paris, where we featured luxury fashion collectible project Clos3t at our booth. Our Head of Marketing, Stefan Colins, also spoke on a panel at the Blockchain Game Alliance side event, as well as on stage with the crew from Site Manager.
Community
Community engagement on both Twitter and Discord continued to surge. Members of our Discord participated in more games nights, playing Krunker and ev.io to win prizes of Venly’s token VENS, as well as unique items for The Sandbox
Meanwhile, we hosted Twitter spaces with Dr Mark van Rijmenam on the role of tokenization in web3 gaming, and Pedro Herrera, Head of Research at dApp Radar, on the emergence of decentralized gaming marketplaces. Stay tuned through March as we host more Twitter spaces with thought leaders from across the industry.
Content
The Expert Talks podcast took a dive into sustainability this month, featuring two separate guests using Web3 to benefit our planet. First up was Nick Zwaneveld, co-founder and CEO of Coorest, a startup using blockchain technology to power carbon capture and trading efforts. This was followed by Nate Wyne of Floodlight, which is working to store and manage climate data on chain.
Finally, over on the blog, we featured the digital merchandise boutique Virtirl Wear, who are using our Shopify Plugin to sell NFTs directly from their Shopify store with no extended wallet setup required. For more information on how you can do the same, check out our handy guide, published earlier in the month.
