Monthly update - March 2023

Spring is in the air and optimism is rising in the markets. Regardless of market conditions, though, Venly is powering ahead, consolidating its presence in gaming, and e-commerce, while staying on top of the latest technological advancements. Read about that, and more, in our March update.

So-called Zero-Knowledge Proofs are the latest technology upgrades helping to scale the blockchain. Venly is at the forefront of these latest improvements, having announced support for Polygon Lab’s zkEVM rollout on the Ethereum network.

We’re expanding our support for Web3 projects, as well. The Venly Ventures program is already helping to fund and support innovators in the space.

We’ve been shortlisted as finalists for not one, but two different awards this month. The Global Business Tech Awards has recognized Venly in the ‘Saas Company of the Year,’ category, with the winner to be announced on May 11.

Metaverse Fashion Week kicked off on the 28th of March. To mark the occasion, digital fashion network and Venly partner Mutani is collaborating with Bulgarian designer Stefan Kartchev to offer a limited run of phygital NFT fashion collectibles. The collection is being sold out of Mutani’s Shopify store, which utilizes Venly’s NFT Plugin to automatically mint and distribute NFTs to Shopify customers, without a cumbersome wallet setup.

Mutani isn’t the only fashion project to see the potential in Web3. French e-commerce startup Clos3t recently featured its cutting-edge customer engagement platform at NFT Paris. As users of the Venly Wallet API, they were kind enough to give us an interview to explain how the blockchain can transform e-commerce. 

Continuing with our commitment to e-commerce, we also announced a partnership with Unthink AI, a startup aiming to empower micro-creators with reward-based NFTs and brand campaigns. 

Finally, there was Popsteak, a members-only restaurant offering a revolutionary loyalty program using NFTs. 

As more and more industries realize the benefits of adopting web3 early, who knows who will be next to jump in?

Following NFT Paris in February, Paris Blockchain Week further reinforced the French capital’s status as a key global Web3 hub. Venly was present at both events, most recently at Web3XP Day during Blockchain Week. The business development team had a great time meeting with representatives from fashion, e-commerce, marketing, gaming, and many other industries. Our CEO Tim Dierckxsens, meanwhile, was featured on a panel discussion entitled ‘Web3: Marketing Opportunities.’

Across the Atlantic, Web3 Gaming was on full display at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, where one of the most compelling stories of industry adoption is in full swing. “Web3 methods offer needed breakthroughs for both game developers and players,” said Trip Hawkins, founder of Electronic Arts. “I’m confident that, within a decade, Web3 Games will be a bigger deal than console or mobile games have ever been.”

The Venly community continues to grow, with regular weekly Game Sessions fast becoming a crowd favorite. This month, we featured Astrodud, The Sandbox, Kitty Kart Racing, and QuackOut. Discord community members competed for NFT and token prizes - congratulations to all the winners! 

Meanwhile, we hosted Steve Woody, Advisor and Partnership Manager for online farming game Sunflower Land, for a live Twitter Space.
